A better drink spot at a canoe shore break
Put the drink within easy reach on a level, fully supported surface, clear of loading paths and gear.

Start after the boat is settled
Choose the drink spot after you have finished moving the canoe and bags. A comfortable shore break is different from a landing in progress. Keep the drink away from where a boat, paddle, bag or another person is about to move.
Give the whole base a surface
Steadi’s footprint is 5.2 inches across. Use a level table or other stable surface wide and deep enough to support all of it, with extra margin at edges. Do not balance it over a tabletop gap, narrow rail, rounded rock or sloping ground.
Place it where your hand already goes
Sit normally, then choose a spot you can reach without leaning across another person or standing into the loading area. A cup hidden behind a bag may be harder to notice. Leave room to grip the drink without catching a strap or moving nearby objects.
Treat cooler lids as moving surfaces
A cooler can be a convenient nearby surface only while it is level, stable and closed, with the entire base supported. Move the drink before opening the lid or moving the cooler. A drink stabilizer is not a way to make the lid safe to open under a drink.
Before you set off again
Finish or close the drink, remove loose items from the break area and put drinkware into suitable storage. Steadi is not a carrying handle or a retention strap. Lift the drink by its container and support it normally.
